What I'm Loving - Little Octopus, East Nashville

I've recently gotten bored with dining out.  Hard to believe, I know! It's like I'm stuck in "Groundhog Day" ; bacon on everything, biscuits, bad service, bland food. I've been pretty disappointed lately with some establishments that used to be great but seem to be dialing back on the things that made them first-rate and recommendable. My boredom was busted by a little place called Little Octopus.

This was our second trip for brunch and I'm trying to find a hole in my calendar for dinner. Soon!

The menu is all about clean eating but it's exciting and makes me want to try everything!

This was a cocktail so technically not good for you, BUT Little Octopus crammed it with good-for-you carrot juice. No guilt here! I'll take two!

The repeat order from our last visit, oysters.

Both sauces were great, but we could have used a spoon. We forgot to ask and didn't want to wait for our server to return so we managed without it.

I've made shakshuka before but this was much better.  Way more complex and interesting. My guess is they make their own harrisa which I don't.

The food comes out as it's ready, not necessarily in course order.

Burrata salad with roasted grapes and fermented chili.

Farro with woodear mushrooms, pine nuts, fermented scallion, and added egg (of course!)

Little Octopus has made me excited about food again, especially food that is suppose to be good for you.  There is nothing bland or boring about this menu but it's not so complicated that you won't want to come back over and over.

Little Octopus is located in POP Nashville on Gallatin Avenue
