Folk, East Nashville
When I heard the people at Rolf & Daughters were opening a sister restaurant, I couldn't wait to check it out! Rolf & Daughters is on my repeat list. As a matter of fact, I just made reservations for R&D today for me and a friend who is paying Nashville a visit.
When I read early press about Folk it seemed to be just a pizza place. Even though a good percentage of the menu is devoted to pizza, I think the rest of the menu is WAY better. Don't get me wrong, the pizza is good, but the rest of the menu is outstanding.
We went early before a show and it was full of young families and cooing babies from the neighborhood.
The cocktails hit the spot and the seemingly simple cucumber and yogurt salad was so good, I've been recreating it at home. Mine is not quite the same but it will do until I can get back.
We got the Sopressata pizza and, while it was good, the lamb meatballs were so much better. Made me wish we had skipped that and explored more of the menu.
The best thing was yet to come! Taking the advice of our banquette mates, we ordered the Olive Oil Gelato and it blew.our.minds!! That alone was worth the Uber to East Nasty!
